Sharing Hearts Acupuncture

Kyung S Shin, LAc, DAOM

Kyung has earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in acupuncture and Chinese herb medicine at Bastyr University in Washington State. She has provided acupuncture treatments to inpatients at Harborview Hospital in Seattle and Providence Medical Center in Everett during her internship and externship. Kyung has also worked as a supervisor assistant, training master’s degree students at the Bastyr University Clinic.

Kyung has established her acupuncture treatment methods by treating patients of diverse nature in her hometown and camp clinics in Nepal. As the founder and director of the non-profit organization, Sharing Hearts in Nepal, she has made numerous trips to Nepal bringing a cohort of acupuncturists along. The group has provided free acupuncture treatments to the local villagers, and essential goods to orphans in the area. Their efforts include addressing the suffering of the Nepali patients with various chronic pains due to harsh living conditions and limited access to healthcare. Despite chronic pain being one of the hardest symptoms to treat, many have reported significant improvements after acupuncture treatments.

Kyung believes that an effective treatment always stems from the combination of trust of the patient and compassion of the acupuncturist, sharing their hearts without losing hope for the best results.
